Chinese manufacturer Gionee has launched the Elife E8 in the Indian market. The differentiating feature of the phone is the 24MP camera, which can stitch photos together to produce a final image that has a resolution of 120MP. The camera comes with a six-element lens with sapphire glass, OIS, lossless zoom up to 3X, 4K video and phase detection autofocus that can detect objects as fast as 0.08 seconds. There's also a dedicated camera shutter key on the left hand side, dual-tone LED flash and an 8MP shooter at the front.
Other specs include a 6-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, MediaTek's octa-core Helio X10 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 64GB internal memory, NFC, dual-SIM dual-LTE connectivity, WiFi ac, NFC and a 3,520mAh battery that supports fast charging. On the software side of things, there's Amigo 3.1 loaded on top on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
This is Gionee's most ambitious product to date, and while the vendor has limited presence online, it has established a footing in the retail space in India by collaborating with brick-and-mortar stores. The Chinese manufacturer is now turning its attention to the e-commerce segment as well, mentioning that the Elife E8 will retail on e-commerce site Snapdeal on October 12 for ₹34,999 ($540).
