With Lollipop, Google introduced two nifty lock screen shortcuts that allowed you to access your dialer and camera apps straight from the lock screen. It was rather nice of Google to add this feature - it was intuitive and straight-forward, and frankly said, we loved it quite much. With Marshmallow, however, Google spiced things a bit by ditching the dialer shortcut and putting a voice search one in its place.

To be completely honest, we did not like this change initially and decided to give it time - you know, we might end up liking that change in the long run. Sadly, this did not happen and the new shortcut did not grow on us.
If you're feeling this way as well, rejoice! There is an easy way to get the coveted dialer shortcut back, but have in mind that this will also disable the fresh new Google Now on Tap functionality. Anyway, here's how to disable the voice search shortcut.
How to get the dialer lockscreen shortcut back on your Marshmallow device
1. Step 1
As usual, we need to get inside the Settings menu in order to finish what we have in mind. After you're inside it, swipe down and go to the "Apps" sub-menu. Once inside, avert your attention to the cog on the top bar. Tap on it in order to manage the default apps on your phone.
2. Step 2
This is the menu where you can meddle with the default apps on your phone, you know, the likes of your default launcher, messaging app, and others. The menu setting that we are particularly interested in is the "Assist & voice Input" one. Tap on so that we can continue with our endeavors.
3. Step 3
To disable the lock screen shortcut in question, simply tap on the topmost option in the list, "Assist app". By default, it is set to the Google app, but we are about to change that. Simply select "None".
4. Step 4
Done! The voice search option will be gone, replaced with the dialer shortcut. However, you will no longer be able to access Google Now on Tap, so tread carefully.
